Tarlac Law School Helps Typhoon Victims in Cagayan Valley During ‘Academic Break for a Cause’ to

Tarlac Law School held an ‘Academic Break for a Cause’ to help the victims of Typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan Valley.

Tarlac State University – School of Law (TSU-SOL) held an “academic break for a cause” last November 17 to 21, 2020. The students hold the academic break to gather relief goods for Cagayan Valley residents after struck by Typhoon Ulysses.

The student decided to take a week-long academic break due to the unstable or even loss of internet connection and power interruption in the area after devastated by series of typhoons, which affect the online classes.

TSU-SOL Dean Peng dela Rama is encouraging the law students to use the class suspensions to involve in donation drive and repacking of relieve goods at the gym of university. The students were able to repack around 2,000 bag of rice, bread, canned goods, medicines, toiletries, and bottled water.

The university also send relief goods to Sta. Maria, Ilagan in Isabela, and Tuguegarao City in Cagayan twice. The Philippine Army and Philippine Air Force also helped to deliver the relief packs to the people.

Dela Rama said that the academic break becomes a meaningful break for the students after lending their leisure time to help the poor typhoon victims.
