Authorities Impose Clearing Operations in Divisoria and City of Manila Ahead of Christmas Season
The local authorities conduct clearing operations along Divisoria prior to the upcoming Christmas shopping season.
On Wednesday (November 25, 2020), the Manila City Bureau of Permit (MCPB) and other local authorities conduct clearing operations and removing illegal structures along Divisoria before the Christmas season.
MCPB together with the police authorities, barangay and city hall officials agreed to clear the streets from illegal structures. The agency also warned the stall owners to remove illegal structures in the area.
“Kapag napicture-an ka ng katabi mo, nai-send sa amin, tatanggalin ka na namin sa pwesto mo. Katulong namin ang pulis, barangay saka city hall,” MCPB team leader Irish Sarmiento said.
The authorities would also assign marshals in Divisoria to remind the public to obey the health protocols including physical distancing measures, wearing of face masks, and face shields while shopping to prevent the exposure to the coronavirus disease.
The agency and the officials would also implement the road clearing operations throughout the Metro Manila to prevent traffic congestion. The quarantine measures will be still implemented amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
