Angkas Allowed Back On Road Says MC Taxi TWG
ANGKAS ALLOWED BACK ON ROAD – Following several months of issues, the motorcycle-hailing app, Angkas can now resume operations.
Earlier this year, Angkas’ operations were seized due to issues with the Motorcycle-taxi study. Along with this, the outbreak of the coronavirus in the Philippines also drove Angkas’ motorcycle taxi operations to a halt. Luckily, Angkas drivers still got some reprieve as food delivery carriers.
But, amid the coronavirus quarantine in the country, back-riding for people who weren’t married couples or living together were not allowed. But, as quarantine restrictions began to ease, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque outlines the guidelines released by the inter-agency task force for the resumption of motorcycle taxis operation.
Motorcycle taxi drivers are required to be in good health, have complete protective gear, reflectorized vest, and use their own helmet with full face visor. They should also wear a face mask at all times, submit body temperature, and fill up health declaration before taking rides.
Furthermore, the Motorcycle Taxi Technical Working Group (MC Taxi TWG) on Tuesday announced that it granted Angkas a provisional authority. This gives the motorcycle-taxi hailing service rights to operate starting from November 24 to December 9.
