Leni Robredo Denies Looking For President, Slams Fake News Peddlers

VP Leni Robredo hits back to those who spread fake news about her which caused President Duterte’s wrath.

LENI ROBREDO – Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo has this statement about fake news peddlers and rumors about her looking for the president.

In a previous report, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte slammed Vice President Leni Robredo during the first part of his late-night speech. He slammed her for allegedly looking for him amid the height of the impact of Typhoon Ulysses

He is visibly angry as he spewed threats and strong statements against the vice president. He called her “dishonest” and “incapable of truth” as he accused her of saying he’s been missing in action during the peak of the calamity. The hashtag #NasaanAngPangulo trended on the day Ulysses brought deep waters to various parts of Luzon but Robredo denied saying such.

In a Twitter post, she firmly stood she never stated such and said, “I never said, ‘Where is the President?’ You can review all my tweets.”

She even expressed that she called out “Sec Panelo for peddling fake news” and to persons who brought that fake news to the president which ultimately caused his anger to be in that intensity against her. What she did is just to respond to all the call of help and for doing what she felt is her job.

Moreover, from the same thread, she wrote that in times of calamity, all forms of help is welcome and not a competition who did it first or who sent the most help. She said, “Hindi ito contest. Hindi tayo nag uunahan. Lahat tayo dapat nagtutulong tulong para sa ating mga kababayan.”
