NDRRMC To Public: Beware Of Bogus Donation Drives
NDRRMC – The NDRRMC recently warned the public to be aware of the bogus donation drives following the calamities that struck the Philippines.
According to a report from PhilStar, the council said that there are individuals who took advantage of the current situation to deceive people into giving cash allegedly to be donated to those affected by the calamities.
“We are cautioning fellow Filipinos wanting to help typhoon victims to carefully examine people or groups to which they will give cash or in-kind donations,”
It also urged the public to give their donations to established organizations or institutions that have a proven track record in aiding affected communities.
“Let us not allow our help to be wasted or given to the wrong persons or groups,”
Based on the report, the council also advised the public to rather coordinate with its own local donation unit.
