Taal Volcano Eruption Victims Show Kindness and Donate Goods for Victims of Typhoon Rolly
Taal Volcano eruption victims have donated goods for the victims of the Super Typhoon Rolly to show the spirit of Bayanihan.
A Facebook user named Psalm David Preña has shared the photo of a box containing goods with words written “To: Victims of Typhoon Rolly from Victims of Taal Volcano”. The photo earned praises from the online community.
Preña noticed the box while sorting goods for their relief operations and caught his attention. The box shows that the faith in humanity remains alive and showed the bayanihan spirit amid the calamity.
David has also expressed his gratitude and thanksgiving towards everyone who donated goods for our less-fortunate countrymen who have been affected by the typhoon.
“We were really touched by the label that reminded us the Flipino bayanihan spirit which is about helping others despite being also in need,” Niah Portem from relief center in Ligao City, Albay said.
Here is the full post:
“While sorting donated goods for our relief operations, one box stood out for our team: a box labeled: “To: Victims of Typhoon Rolly, From: Victims of Taal Volcano”. It really showed the Bayanihan spirit of Filipinos – the culture of helping others despite also being in need. It’s true that those who can empathize with survivors are those who also managed to survive themselves. And that is what the resilient oragon is – a SURVIVOR. And just like how you helped us today, this is a promise that we will help others as well in the future. From one survivor to another.
We would like to extend our deepest and heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donated. And for those who are still planning to donate, our lines are still open. Help us help others.
