Vice Ganda Slammed Online Due To This Controversial Question in ‘Mas’ Testing

Criticized online is Vice Ganda after asking this question to a contestant.

VICE GANDA – Noontime variety show “Its Showtime” host Vice Ganda lambasted online due to this question included in “Mas Testing”.

On Monday, November 9, one question in a segment called “Mas Testing” of Kapamilya noontime show “Its Showtime” drew ire online. “Sinong mas straight” was asked by Vice Ganda, the host, to contestants who are starring in a popular romance web series.

The guests are Ian Pangilinan and Paolo Pangilinan who lead a web series Gaya sa Pelikula directed by JP Habac and created by Juan Miguel Severo. And the question seemingly did not suit well to the taste of many people online.

It was a teasing question that will tickle the mind of the people and when Vice finally revealed the full question, it says “Sino ang mas straight – sino ang mas malapit sa member ng is-Straight Boys?”

However, people thought the question is stereotyping to gay people. Those who were not amused by the question are fans of Gaya sa Pelikula and advocates of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE) awareness.

Paolo, one of the contestants, did not react to the trending topic and the backlash received by it and only posted on Twitter, “No hate only educate and aral exam ok!”

Some have called the question stereotyping and even the host who was just instructed to ask it was called “problematic”. Here are some other comments from Twitter:

They don’t acknowledge nor do they apologize for any problematic thing they do

“could’ve been the icons we needed but…”

It’s so unfair for them to be judged as “problematic” people and their show JUST because of the “Straight” tease. C’mon people!

Dont be too harsh for Vice Ganda, please.
