Floodwaters With Lahar Buries Vehicles, Establishments In Daraga

TYPHOON ROLLY – The devastating effects of Typhoon Rolly left Casagwa Ruines buried in floodwaters with lahar.

Rolly, the strongest typhoon of 2020, caused devastating damage to Catanduanes, Bicol, and nearby provinces. Among the areas hit was also Daraga, Albay. As the typhoon hit the area, it triggered floodwaters mixed with lava.

This caused tricycles, cars, and establishments buried at Cagsawa Ruins. According to an article from GMA, the areas most affected was near the iconic belfry of the church that used to stand before the eruption of Mayon.

Additionally, lahar mudflows also left houses buried in Guinobatan, Albay. Along with this, local authorities reported that at least nine people have died as Rolly ravaged through the region. Meanwhile, three people in Guinobatan were reported as missing.

As per the article, Rolly made landfall over Bato, Catanduanes early Sunday. Following this, it made a second landfall in Tiwi, Albay, one of the provinces placed under Singal Number 5. Here are some of the photos of the damage caused by Rolly:
