Actor Jake Cuenca opens up about his new project.
JAKE CUENCA – Here’s what Jake Cuenca has said about this challenging role that he will be playing in his new project, a horror series.
For months, many celebrities have been put to rest due to the lockdown brought about by the pandemic. This is far different to their hectic schedules before but for Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca, he is blessed to still receive projects amid the pandemic.
When it comes to drama and playing antagonist roles, Jake is among those that many people look up to. He’s been in the industry for so long and from playing small roles, he turned big and have played several iconic roles in huge projects. And his latest project is a digital horror series for the Halloween.
It is entitled “Sitsit“ where he will be working alongside Dido Dela Paz and their story is called “Scorpio”. It is a two-story series and the other one will star Ivana Alawi. The two stories will be directed by Ato Bautista and Erin Pascual. It is a new iWant Original Movie titled and will drop on October 31.
Opening up about his character, he will be the younger version of an aging photographer played by Dido. The character named Danny fears of living alone and in his pursuit to get the woman he loves and he’s obsessed with, he was able to create a potion that can turn him into a young man. And that young man is Jake.
“He turns into me. And then at the same time I always wanted to work with direk Ato (Bautista). I skimmed through the script and right away I said yes. It was an easy yes for me,” he shared. He furthered that during taping, he accordingly had so much fun working with the other people and the director who can get along with them and guides them at the same time.
And to get through his character to be like Dido, what helped him despite the challenges of playing his alter ego is that they have intensity when it comes to portraying anger.
He said as per PUSH, “Pero kasi ngayon siya yung ginagawa ko eh. Nagiging ako siya. Hindi siya yung pagiging batang version so kailangan kopyang kopya ko. Yun yung pinaka naging interesting at pinaka naging challenging dun sa role.”
