Jake Cuenca Explains Why He’s Fighting For Kapamilya Network
JAKE CUENCA – Filipino actor and model Jake Cuenca explained why he’s fighting for ABS-CBN.
The House panel shutdown the largest media company in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, last July 10. Supporters and employees of the media network staged a noise barrage protest on July 18.
The execs of the company announced that they will be laying off workers starting August 31. Veteran broadcast journalists Korina Sanchez and Ces Drilon were among the first worker laid off by the company. Sanchez said she believes in miracles and that the media network will be back soon.
Actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin called out her fellow celebrities for sitting on the fence over their company’s franchise issue. Among the stars who joined the rally are Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Kylie Versoza, and Jake Cuenca.

Jake Cuneca told off a Twitter user for insinuating that he is being paid to support the tv network. He retweeted it and said he’s fighting for ABS-CBN on his own free will.
“Nothing, not a cent. In fact, my contract is cancelled. I might have been paid to go to QC today for gas. I went to ABS-CBN on my free will,” he wrote.
In a separate Tweet, Jake Cuenca explained why he considers ABS-CBN his home. “I’ve been in abs for 14 years straight. Before I got here I was just about to migrate to Spain because I couldn’t even call acting a career till abscbn gave me a shot. I’m fighting for abs cbn, abscbn is my home,” he said.
