PhilHealth Pays This Amount To Red Cross As Partial Payment

PhilHealth Makes Partial Payment to Philippine Red Cross

PHILHEALTH – The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. made a partial payment to the Philippine Red Cross.

Recently, several government agencies were affected after the Philippine Red Cross stopped accepting COVID-19 swab tests of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and those covered by the guidelines of the Department of Health (DOH).

The move of the Red Cross was due to the debt of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. or more commonly called as PhilHealth. The latter had a P930-million debt to Red Cross.

Following Red Cross refusing to accept the COVID-19 swab tests, the specimens were transferred to big hospitals and laboratories. Also, the Philippine Coast Guard had to process the documents of OFWs manually.
