MMFF 2020 – Here’s how to watch the yearly December festival, Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2020 online.
The 2019 novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) couldn’t stop the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) from holding its annual event this year. The spokesperson of the film festival, Noel Ferrer, said movie fans can watch the entries online.
Last July, MMFF announced that the first 4 official entries this year. They are “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan,” “Praybeyt Benjamin 3,” “Magikland,” and “The Exorcism of My Sizzums.”
Based on a report from GMA News, this year’s MMFF will be seen via the streaming website ‘Upstream’ in collaboration with Globe Telecom Inc. and Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The streaming platform is set to launch on November 14.
You can watch the MMFF movie entries starting on December 25. Filmmaker Erik Matti took to his Facebook Page to introduce the streaming platform.
“What we’ve been working on for months is finally out! Now, we can breathe. Upstream is now announced as the new content hub for the streaming platform in partnership with GMovies as the ticketing gateway. This is a leap of faith to what could be the future of a healthier film and entertainment industry,” he wrote.

According to the report, you can buy virtual tickets for P250/film at Globe’s GMovies. The Upstream app is available for download on iOS and Android.
Additional four (4) movies will be announced next month to complete MMFF’s so-called “Magic 8.” This is the first time the film festival will be screened online as mass gatherings and events remain prohibited due to the pandemic.
