MMDA, Palace Reaction To Celine Pialago’s Controversial Remark Against Nasino
MMDA – Here is the reaction of Malacañang and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to Celine Pialago’s ‘drama serye’ remark against Reina Mae Nasino.
MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago drew fierce criticisms from groups, celebrities, and netizens over the weekend because of her Facebook post where she said jailed activist Reina Mae Nacino’s supporters are turning baby River’s burial into a “drama serye.”
The former beauty queen said not all moms who are in jail are able to attend their child’s burial. She urged Nasino’s supporters to get to know her. Nasino is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
Talent manager Ogie Diaz said “wag puro ganda lang” while Kapamilya star Enchong Dee said she is “heartless and unintelligent.”
Celine Pialago recently explained her controversial post hitting the detained activist’s supporters. She said she will not apologize to her saying that Nasino’s supporters should understand who she is and why she guarded by dozens of cops during the wake and burial of her 3-month-old daughter.

Based on a report from Inquirer, Malacañang Palace and MMDA distanced themselves from the controversial remarks of Celine Pialago on Nasino’s plight. They said it’s her own opinion and it does not reflect that of the government agency.
In a televised Palace press briefing on Monday, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said, “Tingin ko po personal na opinion niya iyan. Hindi naman po iyan related sa MMDA iyang issue na iyan. Hayaan po natin na magkaroon ng personal na opinion si spokesperson Pialago.”
According to the report, MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia echoed Harry Roque’s remarks saying: “Ito po’y personal opinion niya at hindi ng MMDA.”
On Sunday, Vice President Leni Robredo slammed the cop’s handling of the funeral of Nasino’s baby. She said their treatment of the activist is ‘overkill.’
