MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago apologized to the statement she made against Reina Mae Nasino.

CELINE PIALAGO – After hitting the people making a drama out of Reina Mae Nasino’s grief, MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago apologized to what she said.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago took a swipe last October 18 to people made a drama out of jailed activist Reina Mae Nasino’s grief and situation. Nasino lost her 3-month-old baby due to acute respiratory distress syndrome last October 9.

Following her controversial statement sparked outrage, famous celebrities reacted to this. Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee said she is “heartless and unintelligent” while talent manager Ogie Diaz expressed “Wag puro ganda lang”.

Pialago said in her post to stop sensationalizing and make a drama series out of Nasino’s grief as a mother. She added that before they should sympathize to her, they must know first who she really is in the society and the reason why she got detained. She wrote, “Masyado ninyong ginagawang pang drama serye sa hapon ang paghihinagpis niya. Tigilan niyo!”

With all the backlash she received, the MMDA spokesperson expressed her apology to the people. She is sorry for describing a mother’s grief as a “drama series” but she is firm of not being sorry for who she is and the tight sorry when she went to the burial and wake of her dead child.

Accordingly, the word “drama serye” is for those people who “capitalized” the situation of Nasino.

The particular post from Pialago has garnered various comments and reactions online. The statement has no sympathy at all coming from a woman to a fellow woman. Many got angry and many also called her out. To recall, Nasino was 5 months pregnant when she got detained.
