Opinion On Donating Blood w/ Financial Compensation

DONATING – Here is an opinionated answer on whether or not individuals who donate blood must be financially compensated.

One of the most usual procedures done in hospitals is blood transfusion on patients of certain cases. This procedure requires the family to look for the match of their patient.

In most cases, it needs to be urgently addressed for the safety of the patient. However, there are times when it would take some time as the patient got the type that is not very common.

Individuals who have a Red Cross card or who knows someone who has may turn to the government medical institution for the availability of the said type. This card is given to those who have donated.

Undeniably, there are talks on the possibility of giving financial compensation for donating blood. Are you in favor or it or not?

As an opinionated answer to it, donating blood must be done as an act of kindness. It must stem from the genuine goal to help other people who might be needing it – to save them or to extend their lives.

On the other side of this move, the one who did it willingly may benefit from it in times of emergencies. He and his family will have the card that may be a faster access when an unwanted time will come.

If such act will be accompanied by financial compensation, instead of helping, it might turn into a way of earning which is really a very personal thing already.
