WalangPasok: Class Suspensions Trends on Twitter
#WalangPasok – Several areas in the country may declare class suspensions due to the effects of Tropical Depression Ofel.
#WALANGPASOK becomes one of the most trending topics on the social media platform as Tropical Depression Ofel makes landfalls in Eastern Samar and brings an inclement weather condition over parts of Visayas.
A lot of social media users on Twitter retweets #WalangPasok not because of the inclement weather condition but to take a break from alleged excessive workload given by the schools to the students.
The Facebook page “University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi” announced the suspension of class in all levels including (Preschool and Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School) on Wednesday (October 14). The school said that the classes would resume when the suspension if lifted.
However, the university said that college students may continue to do their activities on module. The page also encouraged the students to stay indoors.
