EARTHQUAKE: 5.0 Magnitude Quake Hits Taiwan, September 30

Eastern Taiwan jolted by 5.0 magnitude earthquake, September 30.

EARTHQUAKE – A 5.0 magnitude of shaking has struck off the coast of Taiwan on September 30 which swung several buildings in Taipei.

Such natural disaster called earthquake hits places and countries without any prior notice which makes it really dangerous. No expert or technology can predict how strong it can get and the time and place it would struck unlike typhoons and storms. In the Philippines, a 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental is the strongest ever recorded which destroyed buildings and claimed many lives.

And now, out of the country, Taiwan News recorded 6 earthquakes ranging from magnitude 3.5 to 5.3 on Tuesday morning. The following day, September 30, another strong shaking hit northeastern of Taiwan with the epicenter at 39.4 kilometers (24.4 miles) east-northeast of Yilan County Hall and focal depth of 106.5 km. It recorded 5.9 magnitude which was also felt in Hsinchu County, Taipei City, Hualien County, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Miaoli County and Yunlin County. No damages have been reported.

And at 12:37 P.M. Beijing Time on the same day, Wednesday, China Earthquake Networks Center recorded another shaking at 5.0 magnitude.
