Staff of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano Confirmed Positive for COVID-19
HOUSE SPEAKER ALAN PETER CAYETANO – A staff from the office of the House Speaker tested positive for COVID-19.
More than 200 countries and territories recorded cases of COVID-19. This pandemic has shaken several healthcare system including the Philippines‘.
In the Philippines, community quarantine measures are up until now due to the increasing cases of COVID-19. The wearing of a face mask and the practice of social distancing are protocols now when going outdoors.
As of this writing, a total of 294,591 coronavirus cases was logged by the Department of Health (DOH). Out of the said total number, the death toll is at 5,091 while the recoveries is at 231,373.

The COVID-19 exempts no one. The cases includes patients of different age and from different kinds of environment. Some of them are working for the government.
Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have recorded cases of the disease. As for the latter, it has already reached 80.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a staff from the office of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano recently tested positive for COVID-19. It was confirmed by House Secretary-General Jose Luis Montales.
According to Montales, the said staff of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano reported for duty from September 14 to September 18. Based on the report, the staff underwent the COVID-19 test after experiencing headache, body weakness, colds, and the loss of the sense of taste and smell.
The Secretary-General expressed that out of the 80 cases of COVID-19 in the House of Representatives, 14 are considered as active cases. Contact tracing now is ongoing following the staff of the House Speaker’s test result.
