Pres. Duterte Talks About COVID-19 Vaccine at UN General Assembly
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave a message to the United Nations (UN) over the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over 200 nations and territories were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As of this writing, global tallies hold a record of at least 31 million coronavirus cases recorded worldwide.
Out of the said total number, 974,546 COVID-19 patients died of the disease while the recoveries is around 23.3 million. The World Health Organization (WHO) already eyed that the pandemic is a long-term battle.
One of the countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is the Philippines. In fact, community quarantine measures are still up in the country now because of the pandemic.

Also, certain protocols are implemented. It include the wearing of a face mask when going outdoors and the practice of social distancing.
Recently, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte appeared at the UN General Assembly. He spoke to the members of the United Nations about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Philippine President expressed that all nations must be given access to the COVID-19 vaccine once it was proven effective and is already open for distribution. He stressed that both rich and poor countries may obtain it.
“The world is in the race to find a safe and effective vaccine. When the world finds that vaccine, access to it must not be denied nor withheld,” the President said.
Pres. Duterte is one of those who consider the vaccine against the disease as “a global public good”. Currently, at least 9 pharmaceutical companies in Europe and the United States are already in their late-stage trials.
