VP Robredo Playing Deaf To Government’s Coronavirus Response
ROBREDO PLAYING DEAF – Vice President Leni Robredo has been vocal about her ideas to address the coronavirus in the country.
However, following Robredo’s suggestions, it seemed that Malacañang didn’t take lightly to her criticism. As such, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque emphasized that Robredo was merely playing “blind and deaf” to the government’s responses.
This was following Robredo’s statements regarding how the government shouldn’t just wait for a vaccine for COVID-19. According to her, the government needs to respond to the “humanitarian emergencies caused by the pandemic.
Last week, Roque said that they didn’t expect any positive input from Robredo regarding their COVID-19 response since she’s the leader of the opposition.
During Robredo’s radio program last Sunday, she emphasized that the government should conduct a periodic assessment of the pandemic rather than issuing an extension of the state of calamity until next year.
According to an article from Philstar, Harry Roque stated:
All you have to do is go to the webpage of the DOH (Department of Health), all she has to do is consult the regular reports being submitted by the President to Congress pursuant to the Bayanihan 1 and Bayanihan 2 laws
Following this, Roque thanked Robredo for her suggestions, however, he asserted that the suggestions are already being done. Furthermore, Roque added that Robredo should give suggestions on what the government hasn’t done.
