Bacolod Resident Expresses Dismay Over Expired Goods Given by City Gov’t
A Bacolod resident expressed its dismay towards the expired goods included on food backs given by the city government.
The Facebook page “Sun Star Bacolod News” has shared the Facebook post of a disappointed residents at Barangay Banago in Bacolod City over inconsumable goods. The report elicits comments from the netizens.
The citizen expressed its disappointment over the food packs given by the Bacolod City Government containing expired noodles. The food packs also contain rice, which is allegedly not suitable for human consumption.
The Local Government Unit distributed the food packs to jeepney drivers whose jobs have been affected by the modified enhanced community quarantine. The drivers have no income since the implementation of MECQ.
Meanwhile, Department of Social Services and Development head Pacita Tero assured that they will investigate the incident and would take immediate action regarding the issue.
The rice reportedly came from the National Food Authority. The agency said in a previous statement that their stocks are safe for human consumption.
