Here’s what Julia Barretto shared about being born to a showbiz royalty
The Barretto clan is one of the most famous families in the Philippine entertainment industry and Julia Barretto shared why she is proud of being part of this showbiz royalty.
Julia is the daughter of Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla, both have spent years in show business. Aside from her parents, the 23-year-old actress also has famous aunts – Gretchen and Claudine Barretto.
The young actress shared in a recent online interview with G3 San Diego that she is proud of being part of the Barretto clan. However, Julia also acknowledges that this has disadvantages.
She specifically cited that her grandfather is the main reason why she feels proud of being a Barretto.
“Being surrounded by beautiful women. Ang gaganda nila lahat. Well, I love being a Barretto first of all because of my grandfather. That’s the best, best part about being a Barretto. Just having his blood and just being his granddaughter,” she said.
When it comes to the downside of being part of the showbiz royalty, Julia Barretto cited that it is just because they are in the same industry.
“I think people always have that notion na ‘Anak ‘yan ng artista so mas madali. They think it’s easier. But honestly, it is so so hard because there’s so much pressure. And the comparison is until your last project in your career or until you grow old,” she stressed.
She added that she had to prove to everybody that she deserves her own spot in the industry and not just because of her last name. Julia also had to face intrigues and negative comments against her at a young age.
However, she had to overpower that because she really loves to be in the entertainment industry. Julia Barretto instead used the negativity to motivate her to improve.
The young actress also hoped that she would make the first generation of Barrettos in the industry proud, as well as the next generation after her.
