Update on Cebu Mayor Edgardo Labella’s Condition Now Following Surgery
Cebu Mayor Edgardo Labella’s spokesperson gave an update about the condition of the politician now after he went through a surgery.
Cebu City is one of the cities in the Philippines affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s under community quarantine measures for several months now due to increasing cases of the disease.

In PH, there is now a total of 232,072 cases of coronavirus logged by the Department of Health. Out of the said total, DOH recorded 3,737 deaths and 160,549 recoveries.
Community quarantine measures are still up in the entire Philippines now in the pursuit to curb the spread of COVID-19. Several protocols are on the surface like the wearing of a face mask when going outdoors and the practice of social distancing.
Amid Cebu City fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, the head of the city faced another huge challenge – his health condition. He was diagnosed with gallbladder stones and had to undergo a surgery.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Cebu Mayor Edgardo Labella went through a surgery. Recently, his spokesman, City Attorney Rey Gealo gave an update about his condition.
The lawyer assured that the Mayor is recovering now following a surgery. He is under “low fat” and “low salt” diet now and he can already eat solid food. He is thankful to everyone who prayed for him.
Based on the report, Cebu Mayor Edgardo Labella is set to return to work on September 7. His spokesman expressed that even in the hospital, he continues to monitor the updates most especially about the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Everything went well according to plan. He is relieved to finally end that lingering health matter, so nothing can ever get in the way of his selfless and dedicated pursuit of genuine public service to the People of the City of Cebu,” Atty. Gealo said.
