Based on the article in Bandera, it turns out that there is a running joke between Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo when they were young about being a “love team” in the three projects, Mara Clara (2010–2011), Way Back Home (2011), and Growing Up (2011–2012).

Julia shared about this in her recent interview on veteran journalist Julius Babao’s “Unplugged” YouTube channel when he visited the set of the Kapamilya series Sigabo recently.

For many years, Julia and Kathryn did not work together again. They became busy with their own respective endeavors.

Julius also expressed hope that the opportunity would come someday, while Julia shared that working with her original loveteam partner was a great experience because she is kind and talented.

Julia also shared that Kathryn was the only one with whom she formed a genuine friendship in showbiz.

“Kasi po nu’ng time na ‘yun lagi kaming pinagbabangga dahil Mara Clara pero never talaga pumasok sa amin ‘yung (isyu) para kaming magkapatid, si Tita Min (Bernardo) kung ituring ako para akong anak kaya talagang nagkaroon kami ng instant family within sa mga trabahong ginagawa po namin,” the actress shared.

Even though they had been very busy with their respective careers and seldom saw each other, when they do, they would have their conversations as if a long time has not passed.

“So open ka in case may project for you guys,” Julius casually asked. “Opo, it’s a dream project ko po,” the actress answered with a smile.

When Coco Martin was asked if he had already worked with Kathryn Bernardo, the actor answered that he had not. Then, Julia Montes smilingly said, “Dream project po namin.
