Bacolod City Proposed Resolution to Hold Live Stream Broadcast of Cockfight
The local government of Bacolod City sends a resolution to NIATF to allow them from launching live stream broadcast of a cockfight.
The City Council is currently pushing for a resolution seeking approval from the National Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (NIATF) to conduct a cockfight via live stream broadcast at the New Negros Coliseum.
As the Committee chair of Ways and Means, Councilor Al Victor Espino posted in the business session this afternoon the contents of Mr. Ricardo T. Noble, manager/owner of the New Negros Coliseum advising the council that if possible to hold a cockfight, through a Livestream broadcast with a limited audience and personnel.
According to the report of Radyo Bandera, the concerned parties also ensure that they will observe the minimum Health protocol. Meanwhile, Councilor Archie Baribar stressed that they should do something in able to get approval.

He said in the aforementioned topic of the session, the city must take steps to make the NIATF make a decision on such a resolution because it is included in the currently prohibited activities during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to Espino, the derby fight is a huge industry not only in Bacolod, Negros Occidental but also in the entire Philippines and many of today’s livelihoods have been affected since it was stopped. He added that it is up to the NIATF to approve Noble’s request to the Bacolod City Council.
