600-900 Nurses With Complete Requirement Allowed To Leave PH – DOLE

600-900 NURSES ALLOWED TO LEAVE – Around 600 to 900 nurses with complete were allowed to go abroad said Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

These nurses were exempted from the Philippines’ overseas deployment ban. According to an article from Inquirer, Bello stated: There are only about 600 to 900 of them. So makakaalis ngayon 600 to 900 nurses and medical workers.

According to Bello, the nurses have already completed their requirements to travel and work abroad on or before March 8, 2020. He added that the rule imposed a temporary suspension of the deployment of all nurses and medical workers.

However, he asserted that nurses, doctors, and other medical workers who completed their papers as of March 8 were exempted from the ban.

As per the article, Bello said:

Ang rule, we imposed temporary suspension ng deployment of all nurses and medical workers pero exempted from this deployment suspension ay yung mga nakakumpleto ng papeles as of March 8, 2020

Along with this, nurses who currently work aboard and are on vacation in the Philippines were also exempted from the deployment ban.

However, the majority of Filipino nurses disapproved of the government’s decision to impose a deployment ban. As such, the Filipino Nurses United denounced the policy and said it had no right to force medical workers to stay in the Philippines if there were better opportunities abroad.
