Bacolod City ‘Task Force Disiplina’ Temporarily Stops Operations
BACOLOD CITY – The ‘Task Force Disiplina’ of Bacolod City temporarily halted enforcing the face mask and social distancing ordinance.
TFD Head and the Negros Occidental capital vice mayor Mayor El Cid Familiaran said that they opted to temporarily stop operations pending the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test result (RT-PCR) for COVID-19 of one of their member who recently died, according to Panay News.
“We will resume operation if his test result would turn out negative,”
The fatality was identified as a 60-year-old task force member who was a job order employee of the city government. He was found dead inside the bathroom of his residence in Barangay Taculing, as stated by TFD action officer Wilfredo Geolingo.
The fatality was immediately swabbed for COVID-19. TFD was formed after Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued his Executive Order (EO) No. 47, which also created the Quarantine and Health Protocol Compliance Council.
TFD was composed of personnel from the Bacolod City Police Office, City Mayor’s Office, City Administrator’s Office, and Public Order and Safety Office. It was asked to ensure the compliance of residents and establishments with all existing laws, issuances and ordinances in line with the established health protocols against COVID-19
Based on the report, the task force is composed of 60 members that were divided into two teams, Geolingo added.
