TV5 Reportedly Set To Announce New Programs After ABS-CBN Retrenchment
TV5 – The Network will reportedly air some of the programs and shows of the ABS-CBN under new titles.
It’s been more than two months now since the ABS-CBN Network went off-air. The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released a Cease and Desist Order against them over its expired franchise.
Thirteen hearings were made to tackle the issues against the Kapamilya network. These includes issues over the citizenship of its chairman emeritus, Gabby Lopez III, and the taxes that the network paid to the government.
After 13 hearings, the House Franchise Committee voted on whether to deny ABS-CBN of a fresh 25-year franchise or not. With a 70-11 voting last July 10, the Kapamilya network failed to obtain a new franchise to go on-air.
Following the denial of a franchise, ABS-CBN released a statement confirming the employee retrenchment. To this, there are rumors and speculations of network transfers. Many people are concerned about those employees who will be losing their jobs.
