Iza Calzado talked about Jodi Sta. Maria
Actress Iza Calzado has spoken about the alleged “sapawan” issue between her and Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin co-star Jodi Sta. Maria.
The two critically-acclaimed actresses have a new soap opera with Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and singer-actor Sam Milby. Fortunately, this project pushed through even amid the COVID-19 pandemic which made it hard to shoot than the normal.
The main cast members of the teleserye have been promoting their new project. During a recent interview, based on the article from PUSH, Iza talked about the alleged rivalry between her nad Jodi.
Iza plays the character of Jodi’s character’s childhood friend. However, they drifted apart from each other when they got older and became rivals. On the other hand, Iza stressed that there is no rivalry between her and Jodi in real life.
“Yung sapawan hindi ganun eh. First of all, alam mo dapat kung ang eksenang ito ay highlight nung character. Ikaw dapat ay you are a support there.” she pointed out. Iza also said that teamwork is very important in this kind of project. For her, thinking of how to excel than the other will not be beneficial.

“Hindi magiging totoo yung nararamdaman namin sa isa’t isa. Grateful kami (ni Jodi) na kami yung pinagsama kasi walan ganun,” she added.
Iza Calzado shared that she is competing with herself. She always aspires to be better. With this, she realized that asking validation from other people will not help.
“I should also know when my work and I am enough. I did workshops but I never really studied for the craft and it’s something that I have been longing to do talaga. So in terms of competition, it was never a competition with another person,” she shared.
