US Issues Travel Warning For NZ As It Has 23 Active Cases
US ISSUES TRAVEL WARNING FOR NZ – The United States government issued a travel warning for New Zealand as it reported 23 active cases of COVID-19.
However, the United States themselves have over 2 million active cases of COVID-19 with over 5 million reported infections. Along with this, the United States had recently surpassed 160,000 deaths due to the virus.
But despite this, President Donald Trump is eyeing to reopen the country as border restrictions in some states have been eased. Meanwhile, the US’ travel advice website urged for increased caution when traveling to New Zeland.

As of August 6, 2020, New Zealand has had 1569 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 within its borders. Currently, there are 23 active cases in New Zealand
Yet, the post did not specify that the 23 active cases were all under isolation and are awaiting recovery. Although currently, only New Zealand residents are allowed to travel in the country.
Recently, New Zealand recorded two new COVID-19 cases, both coming from the Philippines, SEA’s latest Coronavirus hotspot.

Along with this, all inbound passengers need to finish a mandatory 14-day quarantine, and a negative COVID-19 swab them to be allowed entry.

In contrast to the US government’s travel advisory website, New Zealand has only one message regarding overseas travel – don’t.
According to an article from New Zealand based news outlet Newshub, the website stated:
We currently advise that all New Zealanders do not travel overseas at this time due to the outbreak of COVID-19,
