LTO Officer Gets Rebond During During Office Hours, Gets Suspended
LTO OFFICER GETS REBOND – Amid the coronavirus pandemic, a female officer of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for having a rebond during office hours.
The LTO officer was stationed in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte. Currently, the name of the officer has yet to be disclosed as investigations on her case were ongoing. However, according to a report from PhilStar, the officer had been suspended for five days without pay starting August 10.
The suspension would then allow the LTO to conduct a thorough investigation on the incident.
Authorities were alerted to the matter after a video on social media was posted showing the officer supposedly getting a rebond from another woman while inside the LTO office in Dipolog. As per the article, Aminola Abaton, LTO-Zamboanga regional director said:
This is a clear violation of the civil service rules
Afterward, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) gave word to LTO chief Edgardo Galvante that such a video was circulating on social media. But, it wasn’t clear if the woman who was doing the rebond was alo part of the LTO office.
Moreover, the video showed that the hair rebonding session was happening while there was a customer waiting to be served at the cashier’s window.
If found guilty, the officer may face charges of misconduct and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service. Furthermore, the offense would be punishable with suspension or dismissal from the LTO.
