Motorist Shows Proof of Marriage but Still Arrested Due to Improvised Barrier
Highway Patrol Group (HPG) still apprehend the motorist who shows and posted marriage certificate because the protective barrier used is improvised.
Since the government implemented the imposition of protective barriers for motorists who have back riders, hundreds of riders have been caught and cited a violation for allegedly violating the guidelines issued by the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
On August 1, the Joint Task Force (JTF) COVID Shield issued an order to start hunting down and apprehend those irresponsible riders violating the IATF rule, especially in barrier design. The suggested material on the barrier is acrylic, which is durable and lightweight.

Meanwhile, in the Facebook post of ABS-CBN, a motorist was arrested by the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) for some violation; this is despite their marriage certificate has already been posted on the barrier.
According to photos taken and shared by Zhander Cayabyab, the motorist was arrested because the barrier they used was just improvised. The protective barrier is said to be made of steel from a stroller cart.
Based on the IATF guidelines, such violations include ‘reckless driving’ with a corresponding penalty of P1,000 to P10,000 depending on how many more violations he has committed.
Meanwhile, motorcycle protective barriers sell like hotcakes since the law has been implemented. Motorists flocked at the market to buy this protective shield for back riders.
