Matt Evans was Arrested in His Home after Being Served for Child Custody Case
Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and actor Matt Evans was arrested in his home in Sampaloc after a “child’ custody case.
Based on the article of PEP, Matt was not served by a case violating the Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Woman and Their Children Act of 2004. He was arrested because of the “child support” case filed by his former live-in partner Johnelline Hickins, with whom Matt has a daughter.
Matt was arrested in surprise at his house in Sampaloc, Manila. The actor was clueless to the arrest because he has not received a subpoena related to the case.
According to the Manila Police District—Warrant and Subpoena Section (MPD-WSS), the recent warrant of arrest for Matt was issued by Presiding Judge Carmencita Lacandazo Logan of the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 12.
In the said case, the bail was set at PHP36,000. Matt was previously arrested for allegedly hurting Hickings, who was the daughter of 80’s star Coca Nicolas.

Juan Alberto Carlotta, the brother, revealed that Matt and Johnelline had a heated exchange that ended with Johnelline falling down the stairs. “Ang bilis ng pagbaba niya, sa bilis ng pagbaba nila, hindi man lang nakuhang hawakan ni Matt yung kapatid ko para hindi man lang siya tumama sa pader,” he said.
The actor denied the allegations in an official statement issued by his counsel, Atty. Gerly Rico. The following day, October 22, 2012, Matt was released from jail, after posting a 200-peso bail, the penalty for slight physical injury charges.
the RA 9262 Anti-Violence Against Women and Children case was dismissed in April 2013. Matt is currently married to businesswoman Riza Katrina Evans, who was also jailed in December 2019 for estafa and was released after paying P30,000 bail.
