Lacson Replies To Duterte Statement, Says Duque Failed His Job
DUQUE FAILED MISERABLY – Senator Lacson replies to the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte regarding Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
Following the massive public outcry to get Duque to either resign or be removed from office, Duterte said:
Secretary Duque, they want your neck. Then I said: ‘Okay, you want me to fire Duque?’ Let me be satisfied. What was his sin? He did not import COVID

Earlier today, Senator Ping Lacson posted on his Twitter account:
No sir. The Covid-19 importers are the virus-infected couple from Wuhan, China who spread the virus in Manila because your Secretary Duque miserably failed to do a simple contact tracing.
Ever since the virus began to spread in the Philippines, the Health Secretary had received heavy criticisms from the public, lawmakers, and medical experts alike. However, despite the pleas of the masses, Duterte affirmed that the Health Secretary would remain in his seat.
Month after month, Duque has said several questionable statements regarding COVID-19. Each time, Malacañang, his department, or Duque himself had to “apologize” for the “confusion” caused by his statements.
In April, Lacson and several other senators called on Duque to resign from his post for his alleged “negligence” in addressing the virus outbreak in the country. Afterward, Duque was slammed for announcing the country was at the “second wave” of the coronavirus.
Along with this, Duque was also famous for saying the Philippines, the country with the highest number of cases in Asia, had flattened the curve. Later, he clarified that it was actually just “bent”.
