PAGASA – Habagat To Bring Rains Over Several Parts Of PH This August 1, 2020

PAGASA – Here are the latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA on this day, August 1, 2020 (Saturday).

The latest weather update from the state bureau says that the southwest monsoon will bring occasional rains on this day.

According to GMA News, the bureau also warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to occasional heavy rains.

Habagat will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

Again, the bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur especially during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, habagat is being drawn by a tropical depression, which was found outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The said tropical depression is moving west northwest at 15 kilometers per hour toward Hainan and Vietnam as of 4 AM. It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

On the other hand, Tropical Depression Dindo was last spotted at about 805 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan as of 3 AM.

Dindo is packed with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour. It is currently moving north northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour and is less likely to make landfall.

Dindo is expected to leave PAR between August 3 and 4.

For the wind speed forecast, the northern and western section of Luzon will have strong winds that are moving in the southwest to southeast direction while facing rough to very rough coastal waters.

Visayas, the rest of Luzon and the Zamboanga Peninsula will have moderate to strong winds that are moving in the southwest to south direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast to north direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
