Post of Kim Chiu on Lawmakers Who Tackled ABS-CBN Franchise
KIM CHIU – The Kapamilya actress took to the social media a statement on lawmakers who tackled the ABS-CBN franchise bid.
The ABS-CBN Network failed to renew its franchise or obtain a fresh one. It was more than two (2) months ago when its broadcasting operation was placed off-air following a Cease and Desist Order.
The National Telecommunications Office (NTC) released a Cease and Desist Order over the expired franchise of the Kapamilya network. Undeniably, several issues surrounded the network.
The said issues were discussed during the thirteen (13) hearings held prior to the voting of the House Franchise Committee. With a 70-11 voting result, the Kapamilya network’s bid for a fresh 25-year franchise was denied.

Undeniably, the junking of the franchise bid of the Kapamilya network left countless hearts broken. Many are concerned about the employees who might be losing their jobs amid the pandemic.
Several celebrities have also spoken over the ABS-CBN issue. Recently, Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu took to the social media a statement on the lawmakers who tackled the franchise issue.
On her Instagram Story, Kim Chiu stated that the 13 hearings for the ABS-CBN franchise bid might have been used in solving the COVID-19 pandemic. Here what she stated, “Busy sila sa iba eh, ang galing nila bumusisi wala na sa lugar.”
The Kapamilya actress expressed her hope that the COVID-19 pandemic would be fixed first. She raised a quest if she is still in the Philippines. Here’s her Instagram post:
