Again, netizens have these negative comments against Michelle Dy
Vlogger/social media influencer Michelle Dy became a trending topic on Twitter once again due to criticisms against her recent vlog.
Apparently, Michelle did her own version of TikTok’s trend called the Barbie Challenge. Although many TikTokerists have already done this, it appeared that netizens have a different reaction to what the Pinay beauty vlogger did.
A Twitter user stressed out that Michelle is just being called out for doing that kind of content without thinking about her subscribers who are still minors. In her vlog, Michelle showed how to create a step by step makeup to achieve the look in each phase of the Barbie Challenge.
There was a part when she showed that she had to create a look with bruises which appeared to be after having a cosmetic/plastic surgery.
According to a tweet, Michelle Dy should not promote “romanticizing abuse”. The netizen added that if a trend is being done by a lot of people, it does not necessarily mean that it is the right thing to do.
Several netizens defended the vlogger. There were those who pointed out that bashers are unfair for calling out Michelle Dy when a bunch of influencers has already done this before her.
Another netizen stressed that what Michelle showed was a botched plastic surgery look and not an image of a victim of abuse.
