Vlogger and social media influencer Michelle Dy trended on Twitter due to her statement about having political views.
To recall, it is not the first time that the beauty vlogger was bashed on social media because of her controversial posts. She was lambasted by international beauty blogger Jeffree Star over copyright infringement issue. The latter called her makeup products as “trash“.
Netizens fired back to her when she told her bashers to mind their pimples. Michelle also received criticism when she posted about the girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend.
Once again Michelle Dy received another round of criticisms from netizens on the micro-blogging social media platform. Apparently, the issue came from her video in which she answered certain questions. One of the questions was why she is not vocal about her political view like many social media influencers are doing.
Michelle explained that it is difficult to react to political issues. “Ang hirap magsalita, lalo na mga sensitibong bagay,” she said. The blogger said that it will be difficult for her to say something on topics that she is not well-aware of.

“Alam ko kasi ‘yong scope ng reach ko, alam ko ‘yong ang laki ng influence ko also, ayoko naman i-mislead and mga followers ko into information that I, myself is not sure,” she added.
However, Michelle said that her silence does not mean she does not care. She also said that she is just being careful not to spread wrong information and it is not because she is afraid to receive comments from bashers. The vlogger also said that it is their responsibility as social media personalities to be aware of what they say.
Apparently, this did not sit well with some netizens and Michelle Dy received bashing. However, there were those who defended her stand on sharing political views. Here are some comments from netizens.
