The franchise renewal application of ABS-CBN has been rejected and these DDS supporters have these reactions.
House Franchise Committee decided not to approve the franchise renewal of the biggest media company in the Philippines – ABS-CBN. This is after 13 hearings where the network proved innocence and have not violated any from the issues thrown at them. The rejection was a landslide vote of 70 “Yeses” and 11 “Nos” which broke millions of hearts.
Famous personalities and politicians are worried about the over 11,000 employees who lost their jobs and the rise of unemployment in the country amid the pandemic. ABS-CBN President Carlo Katigbak said in a statement that they are extremely hurt by the junking of their franchise renewal bid but remained thankful for they were given the chance to clear and air their side. He is grateful for all their supporters and hopes for something better to happen.
