Social Media Users Poke Fun at Government’s Announcement About Motorcycle Back-Riding Policy

The online community poke fun at the motorcycle back-riding policy for married couples only implemented by the Philippine government.

Earlier this week, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año announced that back-riding policy will be allowed for couples living under the same roof whether they are married or not.

Eventually, presidential spokesman Harry Roque clarified that only legally married couples will be allowed for the back-riding law. They will be also required to present proof that they are living in the same household.

Unfortunate, a lot of netizens have expressed their dismay and disappointment towards the government’s announcement that only married couple are allowed to ride together in motorcycles amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Recently, the Facebook page “Share Mo Lang” has shared the photo of a couple riding a motorcycle carrying some proof that they are living together. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the photo, it can be seen that the couple is carrying a huge picture frame of their wedding. The two also attached a photo of their marriage certificate at the picture frame as proof.
