ABS-CBN Reacts To Rep. Eric Yap’s P200M Bribe Claim

Here’s what ABS-CBN said regarding the claim of Rep. Eric Yap

ABS-CBN released this statement in line with the claim of ACT-CIS Representative Eric Yap that the network’s emissary tried to bribe him with P200 million.

The lawmaker revealed earlier that more than two weeks ago someone called him who represented the TV giant. Allegedly, he was offered the aforementioned amount for his vote in favor of the franchise renewal of the media company.

Yap said that he declined the offer saying, “hindi for sale ang prinsipyo at boto ko.” Though this garnered admiration from people, Kapamilya fans urged him to show his evidence proving his claim that someone indeed tried to bribe him.

On the other hand, there were those who simply did not believe his claim as a compilation of netizens’ comments was posted on Kapamilya Kingdom’s Instagram account.

With regard to this allegation from the Partylist Representative, ABS-CBN released a statement. Based on the report from One News, here is the statement from the management of the Kapamilya network.

“ABS-CBN did not send an emissary to bribe any lawmaker to vote in favor of our franchise application. We believe in the process and we have participated in the process. We answered all issues raised in the past 12 hearings.”

Meanwhile, supporters of the Kapamilya network, as well as several stars, conducted a motorcade on Thursday and their end point will be in front of the House of Representatives.
