Netizens got entertained by these “savage” captions in Twitter posts of Philstar

The Philstar or The Philippine Star has shared these “savage” captions on Twitter in their news headlines and apparently it is a form of entertainment for several netizens.

On Wednesday, the name of the news outlet became of the trending topics on the micro-blogging social media platform. Just like other media outlets, it is using Twitter and other social media sites to bring the news to more people.

Just recently netizens have been commenting on how the Twitter posts of Philstar were captioned. Some netizens called this “throwing shade” while some said it is simply “savage”. There were those who commended whoever behind the “fierce” captions.

These were the recent “savage” captions that the media outlet wrote in its Twitter posts.

“It is 12 a.m. on July 8. The Palace was expected to air a pre-recorded address by the president last night.”

“We are calling it a night so our editorial staff can rest. Stay safe, everyone.”

For several instances, the Malacanang has prior announcements regarding the time when the address of President Rodrigo Duterte will be aired. However, most of the time, the announced schedule is not being followed, thus, this tweet.

In another caption, Philstar threw shade at Police Major General Debold Sinas for remaining in his position even after “violating” quarantine protocol but GMA journalist and COVID-19 survivor Howie Severino was apprehended for pulling down his mask in order for him to drink.

In another tweet, Philstar asked this question: “Edi human rights group na lang mag presidente? (thinking face emoji)”.
