Actress turned politician Vilma Santos on ABS-CBN issues.
VILMA SANTOS – Veteran actress turned Batangas 6th District Rep. Vilma Santos breaks silence over the franchise renewal issues of ABS-CBN.

In behalf of her colleagues, she spoke about the non-renewal of ABS-CBN that has affected many people which is why it deserves a renewal. She made an appeal to her fellow lawmakers from the Committee on Legislative Franchises to have a broader understanding regarding this matter.
She hoped for fairness and justice as she added, “Narinig natin ang pahayag ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno na walang nilabag nam batas o regulasyon ang ABS-CBN.”
The actress politician also highlighted what the network’s CEO and President Cqrlo Katigbak has promised and that is to strive harder to become a better company. Santos also reiterated for them to recall what the network has brought and done to the people in terms of being informed through their news, entertainment, educational shows, and their charity works.
Meanwhile, just recently, the Batangas representative was criticized after signing the Anti-Terror Bill which was passed into law. This shows that she’s in favor of this. She reasoned that she might be in favor but it comes with limitations and reservations.
