He said his gold face mask is breathable and comfortable to wear but he was unsure if it really protects him against the coronavirus.
According to the report, Shankar Kurade’s face mask is made of thin gold leaf that weigh 60 grams. He said it took craftsmen 8 days to make his golden mask.
“It is a thin mask and has tiny pores that is helping me to breathe… I am not sure if it will be effective to protect me from a coronavirus infection but I am taking other precautions,” he said.
Based on the report, the 49-year-old Indian man said he likes to wear gold jewelry including rings, bracelets, and necklaces. He shared that he got the idea after he saw a man in the news wearing a face mask made of silver.
“People are asking me for selfies… they are awestruck when they see me wearing the gold mask in markets,” he said.
