According to SunStar, TESDA secretary Isidro Lapeña said that as their staff, both in regional and provincial offices and trainees in their institutes are still making washable face masks, demand for these are still high amid the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

She added that this will be beneficial if the residents, who are now staying at home, will be able to sew face masks for their use, adding that wearing of masks are now mandatory.

As per the report, producing these masks can be a livelihood, especially in time like these where most workers or employees have been suspended from reporting due to ECQ, the institute said.

The institute further posted an instructional video on making the face masks, which can be found in their website or on their YouTube channel, which you can check right here:

They also provided patterns for the face masks, which can be accessed here.

The institute already produced and donated at about 91,000 face masks to frontliners from different hospitals and local government units, uniformed personnel at checkpoints, barangay tanod, and health workers, other government agencies, as well as members of the media.
