Former actor-politician Ramon Revilla Sr. passed away on June 26 and former President Joseph Estrada wrote this heartfelt message.
Early this month, Senator Bong Revilla shared that his father was hospitalized. The 93-year old film icon was using a ventilator as he continues to recuperate at the St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City.
A few days after that, the Senator gladly shared the good news that his father can breathe on his own without the aid of the ventilator. However, on Friday night, the sad news came as the ‘Agimat’ of the Philippine entertainment industry passed away.
Based on the article from PEP, at exactly 5:20 p.m on June 26, Ramon Revilla Sr. died. One of his close friends in the industry and political colleague Joseph Estrada mourns his death.

They both came from the same era in the show business and has become legends of Filipino movies. It is indeed a moment of mourning for the former President not just because they were together in showbiz and in the Senate but also because they became friends.

“Isa sa aking mga kasamahan sa pinilakang tabing, kapwa senador at kaibigan ang yumao sa araw na ito: ang dating Senador Ramon Revilla, Sr.
“Iiwan ni ‘Agimat’ ang mga masasayang alaala sa showbiz industry kung saan nagpasaya siya ng maraming manonood na tumangkilik ng kanyang mga pelikula.
“Naging bahagi rin siya ng kasaysayan bilang Senador ng bansa.
“Ang Ejercito-Estrada family ay lubos na nakikiramay sa naiwang pamilya ni Senator Ramon Revilla, Sr.”
The late actor was known for his action movies such as Nardong Putik, Kapitan Pablo, Pepeng Kuryente, and Dugong Buhay. He received several recognitions from prestigious award-giving bodies in the Philippines. His son Bong Revilla followed his footsteps in making action films during the 90s.
