COVID-19 test results of 22 newly graduated cops released
The Philippine National Red Cross has done swab tests to 22 newly graduated cops and they tested positive for COVID-19.
Cops and other law enforcement units are considered frontliners amid the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus disease 2019. If the doctors, nurses, and health workers are on the medical field, law enforcers are the ones maintaining the peace and order, especially during the lockdown.
Many of these frontliners are sacrificing their time to be with their families in order to serve a greater cause. By doing their duties, they are also putting their own lives at risk.
Last month, cops in Manila, tested positive for COVID-19 and they were immediately treated. National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas said that they are making sure that their cops continue to have necessary precautions while in duty.
On June 26, 22 newly graduated cops are added to the list of law enforcers who are infected by the new coronavirus, based on the report from Manila Bulletin.

Meanwhile, also on Friday, President Rodrigo Duterte joined other leaders in Asia for the online ASEAN Summit Conference as they talked about matters concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Their discussions will build on the agreements adopted during the Special ASEAN Summit on COVID-19 held last April, seeking ways to facilitate the ASEAN region’s transition to the ‘new normal’ and post-pandemic recovery,” a statement from Malacanang said.
