Mark said he was requested to ask permission first before doing the live report, But the reporter questioned if it was a new directive from the Joint Task Force COVID-19 Shield.

“Araw-araw po ako nag-l-live report sa iba’t ibang lugar, ngayon lang ako nakirinig na kailangan magpaalam sa pulis kapag magl-live. Bago po ba yang utos kasi lilinawin ko yan sa JTF-Covid Shield,” Mark told the policemen.

Despite admitting that it was not a directive, the policemen still insisted that Mark should ask first for permission because he is allegedly taking a video of them. But the reporter opposed to their claim, saying he was taking a video of the traffic situation.

Mark then showed his phone to cops to prove that he’s not filming them. He also asked if vloggers and other citizens taking videos should also seek permission from authorities.

After he asked the policemen responded “baka kasi sir ‘kalaban ka,” which annoyed the reporter saying “Doon nagpantig ang tenga ko.” His conversation with the policemen ended peacefully but added, “Permission to seek clearance from police to do live report is never an option.”

After the confrontation, Mark asked TF-Covid shield Commander Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar if there’s an existing directive, but according to him “walang ganyang instruction, Mark.”
