Superstar Nora Aunor Shares Thoughts On Controversial Anti-Terror Bill
NORA AUNOR – One of the most renowned artists in Philippine history gave her thoughts on the “Anti-Terror” bill issue.
As soon as the bill came to light, several rights groups and activists have called to junk it. According to them, the bill could be subject to abuse, especially against the opposition. One of the major concerns was the legalization of warrant-less arrests, wire-tapping, and overall breach of privacy and security of individuals.
Moreover, the bill was deemed as “urgent” during the global pandemic with a continued rise in cases in the Philippines. Along with this, issues such as territorial disputes against China were swept under the rug.

With all this in mind, superstar Nora Aunor was interviewed by Inquirer regarding her thoughts on the controversial new bill.
As per the article, Nora added that it would be better if lawmakers studied the bill intensively. She emphasized that the bill should not diminish the human rights of every Filipino. Along with this, Nora added that she believed that if the bill was studied fully with the safety of human rights in mind, the bill would succeed.
Ako ay naniniwala na kapag tinutukan itong mabuti na aayon sa karapatan ng bawat isa bago ito ipasa, ito ay magtatagumpay.
