Mika Salamanca had an MMFF movie offer
Kapuso actress Mika Salamanca turned down an offer to portray a lead role in a movie to be part of the Unkabobagable Star Vice Ganda’s movie.
Mika rose to fame when she was hailed as the first big winner of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition. This opened more opportunities for him in the entertainment industry. Acting projects came to her way.
One of the biggest breaks for her this was being included in the movie Call Me Mother under Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company, and Viva Films. This is one of the official entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025.
Based on the article in ABS-CBN, Mika Salamanca revealed that she received another offer for MMFF this year but she turned down to play a lead role to work with Vice Ganda for her first movie.
The movie also featured award-winning actress Nadine Lustre, John Lapus, Carmi Martin, Chanda Romero, Iyah Mina, Lucas Andalio, and former PBB Celebrity Collab housemates Esynr, River Joseph, Brent Manalo, Klarisse de Guzman, and Shuvee Etrata.
This served as Mika’s big screen debut, which made it more memorable for her. The Kapuso actress shared that her manager gave her the option between two movies for the MMFF, this movie with Vice or the other one undisclosed film.
It was not hard for her decide and she chose Call Me Mother. “I wouldn’t choose any better or any other way to have my first-ever movie. Naalala ko pa nung paglabas namin ng Bahay ni Kuya, sabay na dumating ang dalawang offer. Isang MMFF movie na may lead role, at ang Call Me Mother. At malinaw pa rin sa akin ang sinabi nina Kuya Jan (manager ko) hindi ko pwedeng tanggapin ang lahat, isa lang ang pwede,” Mika revealed.
She really wanted to be part of this movie to the point that she asked the production not to exclude her even though this would greatly affect her schedule. Mika did not mind having no day off just to be part of the film.
“Nagmamakaawa pa ako sa production na huwag akong alisin sa lineup ng artists,” Mika shared. She excited for everyone to watch the movie, the one they really worked hard for. The Kapuso actress also expressed gratitude for her supporters who have been helping her to promote the movie.
“Para sa mga supporters na lagi kong nakikita, mapa-eroplano man o lupa, maraming, maraming salamat. Hindi biro ang ginagawa ninyo. Habang naglalako kami ng pelikula, naglalako rin kayo kasama namin. Sobrang yabang ko kapag nakikita ko kayo. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,” Mika Salamanca said.
